Welcome to the PMI-NEW Mentoring Program!

The Mentoring Program pairs experienced PMP-certified project managers with individuals who are new to the project management profession or looking to expand their knowledge in a specific area. You may ask, “Why have a mentorship program? What’s in it for me as a member, or how can this impact me or my community?“.

The PMI-NEW mentorship program serves as a vehicle to share our knowledge and experiences with each other in order to be the best project managers we can be. Our successful projects are a positive reflection on you, our chapter and the project management profession. Mentoring is a proven approach to drive rich learning and development for both mentees and mentors.

This mentorship program will engage chapter members as mentors, mentees or both.

While getting involved, chapter members can enjoy sharing or learning many varied topics.

Examples include:

• Understanding specific industries such as health care or government
• Learning about project management tools, like Microsoft Project
• Discovering new processes such as Risk Management
• Introducing project management for newer project managers
• Understanding methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall or Hybrid project management
• Managing large and/or complex projects
• Promoting Career Advancement

For students, this is a great way to help achieve your academic goals, or jump start your career for free! For mentors, its a great way to share your knowledge and experiences while practicing communication and coaching skills and earning PDUs!

*PMI-NEW requires that Mentors be PMI Members. Membership is not required for student mentees, however, we encourage students to join PMI and experience the many benefits of membership. Check here for student discounts https://www.pmi.org/membership/student and chapter discounts https://www.pmi.org/membership/chapters.
